Pick a Pocket.....

POCKETS I’d like to see lots and lots of pockets. Pockets full of posies, Brass in Pocket (love the Pretenders).Pockets on clothes, Pockets from clothes, Library Pocket, Pockets of this and Pockets of that. Get the idea? Pockets and Pockets of Pockets.

Cool Dare! I have been saving old jeans for different projects so today they came in handy for the dare. I removed a pocket and added some brads for studs and a chipboard flower. I always seem to use this stamp when I put pockets on cards it's just the right size!

pp and epoxy stickers Love Elsie Roxie, flower Heidi Swapp, hero arts stamp and ribbon from stash.

I have missed a couple of dares as my father passed away early last week, and next week I go to Turkey for 3 weeks so I wont be participating again for a while. I will miss my twice weekly challenges! Lucky for me there is an internet cafe nearby so I will still be able to have a look at everyone's lovely creations.

Enjoy the weekend!

Swinging Sixties...

Ooooh Fabaroonie dare!!!!

We've another Retro challenge for this week's Little Extra. This time we'd like you to find your inspiration in the 1960s.

Love anything to do with the 60's !!!! Ok I used Mary Quant as inspiration for the retro flower and added a 'Groovy' sentiment. I made the backgound (inspired by one of my Mum's fab 60's dresses!) and finished with a few primas(ok- so not very retro) and some lovely retro style mm brads. I inked the flower to make it stand out a bit and kinda wish I hadn't! Never mind 'tis done now!

Had such fun with this dare, thanks for such a great dare again ladies!!

TEXT...
definition... the main body of matter in a book or manuscript. the actual wording of anything written or printed, short passage of scripture, etc

We'd like you to somehow incorporate text into your cards this week - not just one word.. but a portion of TEXT... like a poem, or newspaper print, Caligraphy, Even rip up an old text book and use some of the paper from it, there are masses of possibilities here, so let your imaginations run riot and let us see you texting to your heart's content!

For this card I used an acetate overlay quote, HOTP pp, primas and my new sewing machine! ( dont look too closely as the stitching is a bit wonky!)

The sun is finally shining here so I am going to spend some time gardening today.

Enjoy the weekend.

My Happy Book....

I have been making a mini book today for a little challenge. I had to make something using the word 'happy.' I decided to make a little book so that I could use up some scraps and bits and pieces from other projects. 'Things that make me Happy' is the title I decided on and inside are some of the things that do just that.

This was fun to do and did use up loads of scraps of paper and ribbon. I used chipboard that was going free from school(from packaging) and cut it out on my big shot using the sizzix large circle die. I just attached together them using a small book ring.
pp is Love Elsie roxie, various bits and pieces from stash.
Now I need to go and have a look at the Daring Cardmakers dare challenge this week!

Cartoon Crazy..

We'd like you to have a go at making a cartoon inspired card! You could use the colours and patterns (eg Minnie Mouse's dress would mean a black, white and red spotty card; Winnie the Pooh red and um, honey coloured) or symbolic (eg using an anchor inspired by Popeye).

I have to be honest cartoons really aren't my thing, but I did like what Lynne did with the dare using the colours and patterns rather than a cartoon itself. So I have had a go using 'ANDY PANDY' inspired stripes and colours.

pp dcwv, blooms from Sarah's cards, brads and rub ons from stash.

Finally got my sewing machine today! Now I just have to find a home for it before I can start using it. First I really must do some ironing!!
Well maybe I might just get my new baby out of the box and practise threading her up! And maybe try out a few of the different stitches. And maybe just see how well she sews on paper and card! Ok - maybe the ironing can wait until tomorrow!!
