Another challenge onver on JB forum - to create 5 cards with snowmen on. Struggled a bit as I don't really do novelty cards so this is the best I could do!

Jolly Holly Days.....

Well I am really getting into the Christmas spirit at the moment!! OK so it is only September but I like to be organised!!
I have just completed the 6 x 6 paper pad challenge on the JB forum. The challenge was to make as much as you can with 7 pieces of 6 x 6 paper from one pad. Well you guessed it I used the DCVW christmas stack papers, really starting to get fed up with these now, and I think I am beaten, I can't use them all up!!!
Anyway this is what I made;
A gift box
A Christmas card

A couple of gift tags
And a gift voucher wallet
I still have loads of scraps left so I will make a few more tags.
Also made a card for a challenge to use a heart on a card;
Really must go and do some housework now!!

Folding card...

I made this folding card for my little sister's birthday soon. It' s a bit like an exploding box, only folded into a card. It was great fun to make. I don't often use these colours but I actually really like the way this has turned out.
This card fits two challenges a folding card on JB and Flowers challenge on the The Arty Girlz blog!

Bex's Template..

I made this card with the template over on JB forum. It's a great template but I think the card came out a bit dark . I thought I would try a tri fold card as I don't usually make these, but I am not that keen on the shape really, I think I will stick to square cards. Still trying to use up those DCWV papers and I am still failing! The paper stack doesn't seem to be getting any smaller!

I found these little brads in my stash collection, I can't remember when or where I bought them but they are really good for threading ribbon through.

Might be back later for the Daring Cardmakers little extra!

More Challenges..

It's been a busy weekend for me but I did a bit of crafting last night and managed to complete a couple more challenges for the JB forum.
This first card is really out of my comfort zone! I am really trying to get the hang of stamping but I think I am failing miserably. I love this image as the woman in it reminds me so much of my Mum when she was young. I think I may send this card to her with a photo I have of her that is similar. Anyway the challenge was to use gems and I have used 3.
The other challenge was to make 5 Christmas cards with trees on. These are very basic but I have so many to make this year that I can't spend time making them all different. I am still trying to use up the DCWV Christmas stack papers, they seem to last forever!

Charity begins at home....

I DARE you to visit your local Charity Shop & make someone else's
TRASH your STASH!
.........and make a GORGEOUS card from what you find.You'll be amazed at the special little treasures you'll find if you only take the time to look with CREATIVE EYES
You can always trust Gillian to come up with a dare that has a vintage feel to it!!!! Lucky for me I bought a big bag of buttons the other week from a Charity shop so I had something to play with already. Amongst the buttons was this little metal one which is so pretty, I thought it was perfect for this dare!
pp crate twirl, ribbon and buckle from making memories, heidi swapp chipboard letters, and autumn leaves stamp.
I've been busy this week with a few more challenge cards for the JB forum. The first one is for the touchy feely challenge;
Easy as 1 2 3;
Get tearing;
Hope you all have a good weekend!

One word....

This week I dare you to use a Word as the main focal point to your card. It can be a name, a greeting or just a word that inspires you. You can use other text but only one word as a main embellishment. So dig out your dictionaries, die cutters, alphabet stamps, rubons or download a funky font and show us what you can do!

I started this card for the little extra this week but never got it finished , so I have finished it with this dare in mind. I have included a big and little flower(for the little extra) and the word Friend for the dare. This card also fits the gingham challenge on the JB forum.

pp - various scraps, chipboard flower SA kit, chipboard letters Heidi Swapp,mm clip and ribbon from stash.

I am on a mission to use up the ridiculous amount of scraps I have saved over the past couple of years, so the patchwork cards are great for doing this. And as this card is for a special friend of my daughter I used up a few more and made a tag to tie on the gift bag of her present. In fact I think I will try and make a tag with each card from now on to use up all those little bits and pieces I just can't seem to throw away!!

I don't seem to posting much at the moment, I have made lots of bits and pieces lately but I don't want to put them on here until I know that the people I made them for have received them!

Ok I really have to go tidy my craft room I cannot even find a space on the desk to work on!!

Scalloped scissors;

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who left a lovely comment about my DCM purple card, I really appreciate them all!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Daring Cardmakers Christmas purple challenge...

So, we'd like you to make and show a Christmas card which incorporates the following:
Some Paper Tearing
The colour Purple
AND
It has to have at least one hole somewhere in the design!
Well this one was certainly a challenge!!!!! Purple sure ain't my thing!!!!! I don't use holes in cards either! So my card has turned out kind of PANTS really!!!!!!!!!!!!! Searched through my stash and didn't have any relevant purple Christmas bits, but eventually I found this purple pearlescent cardstock which I have never used before( nor will I ever use again!!) and some HOTP pp in a similar shade which I used for the tearing part of the dare.
I also found this silver embossed cardstock which is so old I didn't even know I had it but it did have a Christmas theme on so I thought I would use that up as well. I used a circle punch to cut the hole and also to cut out the 'celebrate' definition. I finished off with some organza ribbon in black, purple and white and a little Christmas charm.
Apologies for photo quality the light kept reflecting off the pearlesent card.
So I have completed the dare but I am far from happy with this one. I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!
Enjoy your weekend!

Big Softie....

We want you to use something soft on your card feathers, velvet paper, fluffy fibres all that soft, strokable stuff counts for this one and that's it, easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy!

I hope that felt counts as something soft 'coz that's what I used! I have been trying to use up these papers but I am failing miserably, I still have tons of them.

This card doubles up for the 'stitched up' challenge on the JB forum.

pp DCWV Christmas stack, felt star cut with sizzix star and hand stitched, letraset rub ons and plenty of machine stitching.
