Been a while...

Where does the time go? I am not getting much time for crafting, and a few things I have made I can't share at the moment(always wanted to say that!!!!!).

I have made my Mum a card for Sunday, it's quite different to my normal style I think and I am not sure about it, but I think Mum will like it anyway. I made a matching tag for her pressie as well.

It's my Birthday in late March and I will be quite old (39 +1) so I have been dropping hints about Birthday presents now and again - well quite a bit actually! We were supposed to be going to New York but our kitchen is being fitted around that time so we may go later in the year. So instead I thought I would really like a laptop, I have been suggesting that fabby Apple thin one on the telly, but no doubt I will end up with a Packard Bell one instead.LOL!

Oh well!

Another Flower card...

Here is another card I made using some fabby Cosmo Cricket papers. I used circles for the scallops - not sure how successful that was!!! Never mind - Tis done now! Photo is still a bit rubbish as Leah still has my camera.

Oh and a card I made last year for a competition - I came second in the Sizzix category - apparently £150 of Sizzix goodies are on their way to me in the post! Can't wait!

Had a busy crafting day....

It's been a while since I could craft for a few hours but today was heaven!!!! I was supposed to be painting the extension ready for the new kitchen, but as DH has taken Leah skiing this week in Italy I thought I should have some leisure time too!!! He's not going to be a happy bunny when he gets back on Sunday and I haven't even started - I went clothes shopping yesterday instead of painting and managed to spend a sizable chunk of this months wages!

OK - back to today, I managed 3 cards, the photos are shocking as DH also took the good camera so I am having to manage with a naff old one, and also it is soooo dark here again today!

Then I made a gift for the lady at work who is retiring soon - This is not a new idea, I borrowed it from some of the lovely girls over on Just Bex who have made teacher survival kits before - I just adapted it for a retirement.

The bottle of wine is my favourite as I could use some of our terminology ( we spend hours each week raising prescriptions!)
I had fun making this so I hope she likes it.

More challenges,,,

I haven't had much time for challenges today but I did manage two - monochrome with one other colour, totally lifted from a wonderful card sent to me by a forum friend, Thanks Lorry!;

And secondly to tart up a box - well I do like a bit of tarting so here is what I came up with;

Before;

After;

Big Challenge Weekend...

Over on JB forum there is a fabby Big Challenge weekend!!!!! Lots of different challenges to take part in. The first one is a template and I made this card with it, using a Bella stamped image that someone sent me.

The next cardwas made using a recipe - 3 patterned papers, 2 blooms and 1 ribbon;
I tried to distress the edges using my letter opener! I must treat myself to a proper paper edge distresser!

No doubt I will be making a few more cards this weekend!

Friends.....

Well Valentines day is now over, I was a very lucky girl as my DH was very thoughtful and got me a gorgeous card and wait for it........ a jar of Marmite!!!!!!!!!!! He could have bought red roses or a nice diamond ring or something but no - he chose Marmite!! It was quite a posh jar of Marmite to be fair - Marmite with champagne and the label was heart shaped and said "I love you" on it.

I think it may be time to trade him in for a younger model!!!!!!!!!!

A few crafting buddies and myself decided to do a friendship swap for Valentines Day, we all made something associated with Friendship. This is what I made;

And in return I received a gorgeous fabric frame with a photo of my Nanna and Grandad in it. I haven't taken any photos yet but will try to over the weekend.

Have a good weekend,

Love is in the Air,,,,

I used the DCM little extra to make a valentine card for my DH. I find making him cards really difficult! A little literary culture for you this morning with this card - William Shakespeare!

So, this weeks little extra is to give us a card with a romantic theme AND to use both red and black ribbon.

Not much guessing that I have used inspiration from the wonderful Gillian Hamilton(I soooooo miss seeing her wonderful cards twice a week!!!!!!!!)

A valentine....

Oooh aren't I good - 3 posts in one week!!! I haven't had a chance to join in with the Daring Cardmaker's for a long while, but this week I have managed a card!!!

I used the fabby sketch on their blog - you can see it here.

My daughter asked me to make her boyfriend a Valentine card - he is a cool funky kinda guy so he needs a cool funky kinda card!!!! I always seem to use Love Elsie papers when I make him a card, they fit his personality so well. I was given instructions not to use any 'soppy love stuff' so hopefully this will be OK.
Have a great weekend

A Gift....

I made this note book last night for My Daughter who is going to be 14 soon. I still love using my Bind-it-all, any excuse to put the hilarious DVD on that comes with it!!!!!!! I can't help but giggle everytime I watch it!

Back to the book, I used doodlebug papers, some cheapo chipboard which I covered in matching papers and oodle and oodles of ribbon! Tis a bit bright but I think she will like it!

Ooooops.....................

Bad Bad blogger!!!!! I will go sit on the 'norty' chair for at least six hours! I have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to post for a while!

Not much time for crafting this week either and a few things I have made I can't show yet as they haven't been sent out so I don't want to spoil the surprise!

I can show a couple of very quick bits I have made. this card was made for the Paper Take weekly challenge to use blooms. Well you don't have to ask me twice to put flowers on cards!!!
I also made this little money wallet for my daughter's Birthday ;
And lastly a little Valentine card thing -I stamped and embossed this one.
Hopefully I will get a chance to put a few more interesting things on later this week!
